research methodology

Survey, intrerview and case study will be held for the research methodology.
To get various answer for what people think related to living spaces are shrinking
For interview, 3 people ftrom Hongkong were questioned by my group. Each of us interviewed one acquaintance that live in Hongkong. I interviewed my aunt who was born and live in Hongkong. She is married woman and here is our talk

How big is your house ?
My house is 700 sq m with 3 bedrooms, 1 living rooms, 1 toilet, 1 kitchen

How many people in your family and what do you feel living in your current house?
My family consists of 5 people. I feel my house is small, not big enough. I think the standard of a
living spaces for 5 people should be around 1100 sq m but the cost of a big house is very expensive.

What are the advantages and disadvantages living in small spaces?
The good point is togetherness in the family but while ones is fighting or quarrelling, it will be heard by other family members which is not
a good point.

So you don't think because of small spaces the place will be mess up easily because of the stuffs?
I think this one depends on ones' personality. I don't really find this as a pronlem.

What do you feel from the past living spaces in Hongkong to now?
It is not like the apartments that they build nowadays are smaller. There are small and big apartments . It just the price that affects people to buy smaller house. In these past 5 years, the houses price in Hongkong keeps rocketing. Many young people can not support the high rent apartment. Some of the young people share a small apartment with friends  to minimize the rental cost.

In my opinion, although land shortage affects the size of living spaces, from the interview it can be concluded that money /budget/ economy of citizen influences a large part of why living spaces getting smaller.
